How often should you water?
There is no single right answer: light, temperature, pot size and season all change how fast soil dries. A schedule is a starting point you adjust.
Typical starting points indoors
- Succulents and cacti: every 2–3 weeks, less in winter.
- Snake plant, ZZ plant: every 2–3 weeks.
- Monstera, pothos, philodendron: about every 7–10 days.
- Ferns and calatheas: keep lightly moist, every 3–5 days.
- Herbs on a sunny sill: every 2–3 days.
The finger test
Push a finger into the soil. Most foliage plants want water when the top 2–3 cm feel dry. Water until it drains from the bottom, then empty the saucer.
Adjust with the seasons
Plants drink more in summer and much less in winter. In Leafwise you can change each plant's interval at any time.
